Novelist’s Nelson series optioned for movie Print Email

Novelist and screenwriter Andrew Klavan's first work for the Christian market has been optioned for a movie by the makers of Oscar-winning film The Hurt Locker and the "Twilight" films.

Summit Entertainment is planning a screen version of the Thomas Nelson "Homelander" series, launched in April 2009 with The Last Thing I Remember--originally in hardcover, with a trade paper edition due out in June--and The Long Way Home in February 2010.

Author and radio commentator Chuck Colson has been named the recipient of the 2010 Jordon Lifetime Achievement Award.

Colson, whose books include The Faith and Loving God (both Zondervan) as well as How Now Shall We Live? and Lies That Go Unchallenged in Popular Culture (both Tyndale House Publishers), will be honored during the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association's (ECPA) Executive Leadership Summit and Annual Member Meeting in Nashville, May 3.

Larry Carpenter leaving Standard Publishing Print Email

Standard Publishing President Larry Carpenter is leaving the historic company after less than two years at the helm.

An industry veteran recruited to help turn the 144-year-old publisher around after years of declining fortunes, Carpenter told Christian Retailing that his resignation--effective May 7--was for personal reasons and not related to the business.
