Jonathan Merkh has resigned his position as vice president of Guideposts Books to pursue other opportunities, the company said in a statement. The announcement was made jointly by Guideposts President and CEO Richard Hopple and Merkh, who resigned from Nelson in November 2006 as senior vice president and publisher of Nelson Books. He was hired last year by Guideposts to lead its book publishing division. Hopple said Guideposts was grateful for Merkh's "energy and many contributions during his time at the helm of Guideposts Books." Merkh added: "It has been an honor to be part of the Guideposts organization with its incredible legacy of helping and inspiring millions of people. I am certain that Guideposts Books will continue to move forward, grow and have a positive impact in the markets they want to reach."
Guideposts officials have not announced how Merkh will be replaced.
