Nelson Bibles, an imprint of Thomas Nelson Publishers, has introduced “Look Inside Design” (LID), a customer-interactive packaging for all of its study Bibles.

The packaging is a full-color box that contains a flap, allowing customers to view interior-page samples from the Bible. The first LID release is The Charles F. Stanley Life Principles Bible, which released last month.

LID packaging on the Life Principles Bible allows customers to view such features as “Answers to Life's Questions” sidebars, “Life Lessons” breakout boxes and “Life Principles” articles before purchasing. All features are presented in full color with brief explanations on how users will benefit from the purchase.

“LID packaging is similar to packaging used by software manufacturers in that it quickly gives customers a good understanding of the product and how they might use it,” said Wayne Hastings, senior vice president and publisher for Nelson Bibles. “It's really an eye-catching user's manual that will help people decide which Bible to purchase.”
