Christian market titles from Penguin Group (USA) are to be distributed to CBA retail by Charisma House, an imprint of Strang Communications, through a partnership believed to be the first of its kind between a major New York publishing house and a Christian company. The joint venture between the two publishers, announced this month, is based on a number of successful co-publishing collaborations between Penguin imprints and Charisma House, including The Faith of George W. Bush by Stephen Mansfield and G.P. Taylor novels Shadowmancer and Wormwood-all titles that made The New York Times' best-seller lists. Under the exclusive, four-year contract, Charisma House will begin distributing titles from Penguin Group's various imprints to Christian retail outlets on May 1. JMS Marketing was formerly Penguin Group's distributor to the CBA market. Joel Fotinos, director of religion publishing at Penguin Group, said the driving force for the partnership "was the excellent experience Penguin has had with Strang in all of our partnerships and the strong relationship that has developed. We have a number of other interesting and innovative projects that we are considering partnering on in the next couple of years."
