Bill Simmons, president of Bible Factory Outlet, will join Berean Christian Stores as vice president of merchandising and marketing by the end of the month. The announcement was made this week by Berean, based in Cincinnati.

Simmons became president of Bible Factory Outlet in 1999, and the Albertville, Ala.-based chain grew from 21 stores to 71 stores. He is former manager of operations at Cedar Springs Christian Stores in Knoxville, Tenn. Berean operates 18 stores in eight states.

He is co-chairman of the Supply Chain Task Force Distribution Committee, a joint venture between CBA and ECPA. He is the former committee chairman of the Christian Music and Video Retailers convention and a former board member of the Gospel Music Association.

"I am very excited to have someone with Bill's background, track record and leadership ability choose to join Berean Christian Stores," said Les Dietzman, president of Berean and former president and CEO of Family Christian Stores. "It is an endorsement for the potential we have as a company to grow and build upon the wonderful heritage of our company."
