Big Idea has entered into a multi-production relationship with animation studio Entrenched Inc., with the two companies agreeing to collaborate on new VeggieTales content, including DVDs.

The animation will be completed by Entrenched's sister company, Hawaii Animation Studios (HAS). Previously, HAS played a part in the production of Big Idea and Universal Studio's 2008 theatrical release--VeggieTales: The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything--as well as the animated "3-2-1 Penguins!" series.

"We're thrilled to partner with Entrenched at such an exciting time," said Leslie Ferrell, general manager of Big Idea. "We're confident a fresh crop of VeggieTales will grow out of Hawaii, and continue to bring the timeless and delightful adventures, lessons and songs to viewers around the world. It's an honor for us to participate in the official opening and celebration of Hawaii Animation Studios."

Ferrell and Mike Nawrocki, vice president of creative development for Big Idea and VeggieTales co-creator, were scheduled to join Hawaii Lt. Gov. James Aiona and Hawaii Sen. Will Espero today for a commemorative opening ceremony of HAS in Honolulu.
