Focus on the Family founder and best-selling author James Dobson will host a new daily radio show this year with his son, Ryan. Dobson recently announced the show, to be called ''James Dobson on the Family,'' on his Facebook page, the Associated Press (AP) reported.

Last November, Dobson said that he planned to leave Focus on the Family and its flagship radio broadcast at the end of this month. He said his new show, which will air in March, will cover many of the same topics, including marriage, child-rearing and national issues.

Dobson, 73, said he wanted to leave Focus on the Family so the ministry could be passed on to the next generation of leaders. However, Dobson said he feels compelled to continue at a time when the nation is in a ''moral decline of shocking dimensions," the AP reported.

Dobson's books include The New Strong-Willed Child and Bringing Up Boys (both Tyndale House Publishers).
