Having released a statement last week about new multimedia group Good News Holdings (GNH), George Barna, the company's chairman, held a press conference yesterday to officially announce the group's partners and upcoming film projects. GNH is comprised of David Kirkpatrick, former president of Paramount Pictures and Disney Studios; Christopher Chisholm, a founder of E! Entertainment Network and a senior consultant to Microsoft; Martha Cotton, former producer of the TODAY show (West Coast) and Nightly News With Tom Brokaw; Rich Christopher, a Silicon Valley veteran executive; and Thom Black, a former pastor and most recently the chief architect of the expansion of The Barna Group. Also announced at the press conference, GNH will partner with Tyndale House Publishers in a project for teens, said Vice President and Publisher of Tyndale Doug Knox. Dudleytown, named after a real town near Cornwall, Conn., has been “under satanic rule for 300 years.” The film is expected to hit theaters October 2007 and could follow up with more movies. It will be accompanied by a seven-book series from Tyndale, Knox said.
The first film from GNH will be the adaptation of Anne Rice's Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt (Knopf). In a video message played at the press conference, Rice said Christ the Lord |
