As of January, there were 2,256 CBA members, down 2.6% from a year ago. Leon Wirth, CBA's director of communications and marketing, said Wednesday that stores no longer affiliated were mostly smaller stores. He reiterated that 288 Christian retail stores closed in 2004 with 22% of those being CBA members.
