Jason Ingram named Songwriter of the Year Print Email

Jason Ingram was named Christian Songwriter of the Year for 2006 during SESAC's annual Christian Music Awards, according to the performing rights organization.

During the SESAC event, held March 5 in Nashville, Ingram was recognized for writing “Shine,” which was recorded by Salvador. Ingram also wrote “I Will Lift My Eyes,” which was recorded by Bebo Norman.

Other SESAC award-winners included Tiffany Arbuckle Lee (aka Plumb), Adam Agee of Stellar Kart, Christopher Clonts of Decyfer Down, Krystal Meyers, NewSong's Michael O'Brien and Wordspring Music (a division of Word Music Publishing) was named Christian Publisher of the Year.

Based in Nashville, SESAC, originally the Society of European Stage Authors & Composers, is a service organization created to assist both the creators of music and music users through royalty collection and music licensing.
