Having just won the Super Bowl XLI title with his team Sunday, Indianapolis Colts punter Hunter Smith is now in the studio recording his INO Records debut with fellow artist Chris Wilson, who together make up the acoustic-rock duo Connersvine. “Winning the Super Bowl has been one of the highlights of my life and career,” the Colts' punter said. “It is completely humbling that God has allowed me to not only be a part of an amazing football team, but also is giving me the chance to pursue His calling in music. I feel just as strong of a call to worship leading and ministering through music as I do in football.” Making the most of the off-season, Connersvine is now in the studio recording with award-winning producer Pete Kipley (MercyMe, Rebecca St. James, The Afters). “If someone would have asked me a few years ago to sit down and write out my musical path, it would not have included a professional football player,” Wilson said. “We met leading worship at our church, and God opened the door to Connersvine. We may not be the most traditional duo, but INO Records, Third Coast Artist Agency and BrickHouse Entertainment have helped us to see the unique opportunity in our situation.”
Smith and Wilson, who both lead worship at Every Nation Church in Indianapolis, feel that their purpose is not only to write songs as artists, but also for corporate worship.
