magazine has announced the 2006 nominees for its 6th annual Praise Awards, which features three new categories-Song DISCovery Independent Song of the Year, Urban Praise and Worship Project, and Choral Project.

The awards will honor outstanding achievement in five other categories: Breakout Artist, Worship Compilation, Worship Project of the Year, Song of the Year and Gospel Project.

The nominees for Breakout Artist are Phil Wickham, Aaron Shust, Leeland Mooring, Jaime Jamgochian and Brandon Heath. Nominated for Song of the Year are “Hosanna” by Paul Baloche, “Everlasting God” by Brenton Brown, “Made to Worship” by Chris Tomlin, “Let the Church Rise” by Johnathan Stockstill and Israel Houghton, “Mighty to Save” by Reuben Morgan and Ben Fielding, and “Breakthrough” by Tommy Walker
