Malaco named Gospel Label of the Year Print Email

At the sixth annual International Black Broadcasters Association (IBBA) convention held in New Orleans, Malaco Records was named Gospel Label of the Year. The award was presented at the 6th annual IBBA Awards Dinner on Aug. 5. Malaco's Executive Director of the Gospel Division D.A. Johnson was on hand to accept the award.

Awards also were given to the following: Garnett March, Award for Excellence in the Music Industry; Dillard University, Black University of the Year; Charles Evers, IBBA Civil Rights Award; Ken James, Award for Excellence in Broadcasting; Mayor C. Ray Nagin, IBBA Leadership Award; Noble Womble, IBBA Survivor Award; Mayor Milton D. Tutwiler, IBBA Humanitarian Award; Bishop Paul S. Morton, Song of the Year for “On Broken Pieces”; and David Honig, IBBA Visionary Award.
