The digital single “Be My Escape” from Gotee/Capitol recording artist Relient K has received Gold and Platinum status from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album containing the single, Mmhmm, has already achieved Gold status for selling more than 500,000 units since its November 2004 release.

In 2004, RIAA launched the digital sales award program to recognize downloaded singles in the digital market. Digital Gold awards represent 100,000 downloads, and Digital Platinum awards represent 200,000 downloads.

Relient K is currently on tour with MxPx.
