Thomas Nelson Publishers plans to release John Eldredge's latest title in the spring, which the best-selling author says is "perhaps the most important book I've ever written."

Scheduled for publication April 15 and described as "unlike any book (Eldredge) has written," Walking With God "moves through a year in the life of (the author), showing and teaching what an intimate relationship with God looks like day to day," according to marketing copy for the book.

"This is the most transparent book I've ever written," Eldredge wrote in a letter in Nelson's December 2007-March 2008 catalog. "I'm opening my journals, really, in hopes of helping others learn a conversational intimacy with Jesus. It is my greatest joy."

The book will receive the biggest marketing launch ever for a title by Eldredge, who is one of Nelson's most popular authors, according to Nelson officials. Eldredge's Wild at Heart has sold 3 million copies, and The Way of the Wild Heart has had sales of 233,000. Captivating, which Eldredge co-wrote with his wife, Stasi, has sold 1.3 million copies, Nelson officials said.
