Amish fiction queen Wanda E. Brunstetter has made a strong debut on the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association's (ECPA) latest best-seller list with A Sister's Hope. But the third in her "Sisters of Holmes County" series from Barbour Publishing was unable to dislodge William P. Young's talk-of-the-industry novel, The Shack (Windblown Media/Hachette Book Group USA), which retained the top slot. Behind Brunstetter at No. 2 in the ECPA's just-released Top 50 chart for August were: 3. 90 Minutes in Heaven by Don Piper, with Cecil Murphey (Revell/Baker Publishing Group); 4. The List by Robert Whitlow (Thomas Nelson); 5. 3:16 by Max Lucado (Thomas Nelson); 6. The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman (Northfield Publishing/Moody Publishers); 7. Love & Respect by Emmerson Eggerichs (Thomas Nelson); 8. Mistaken Identity by Don & Susie Van Ryn, and Newell, Colleen & Whitney Cerak, with Mark Tabb (Howard Books); 9. Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge (Thomas Nelson); and 10. Walking With God by John Eldredge (Thomas Nelson). The CBA-led campaign to send Bibles to American military personnel took the special edition Operation Worship Bible NLT (Tyndale House Publishers) to the top of the Bible sales chart. It was followed by: 2. Text Bible-NKJV (Thomas Nelson); 3. Outreach New Testament-ESV (Crossway Books & Bibles); 4. Finding God-New Testament, NIV (Zondervan); 5. Thinline Bible-NIV, burgundy (Zondervan); 6. The Adventure Bible (hardcover) (Zonderkidz/Zondervan); 7. Witness Edition Bible-NIV (Zondervan); 8. The Adventure Bible (softcover) (Zonderkidz/Zondervan); 9. The Word of Promise New Testament Audio Bible (Thomas Nelson); 10.King James Gift and Award Bible, black leatherflex (Thomas Nelson). The ECPA lists are drawn from Christian retail stores across the country through the association's PubTrack Christian data system. Book lists are based on trade discounted titles selling in at least 20% of reporting stores. Tracts and booklets are excluded.
