Max Lucado, best-selling author and pastor, has signed a three-book contract with Thomas Nelson. The first of three adult trade titles will release in 2009.

Thomas Nelson currently publishes 23 out of Lucado's 24 adult trade books, and Lucado is pleased to continue partnering with his longtime publisher: "Teaming up with Thomas Nelson brings me such joy and excitement," Lucado said. "It is an honor to partner with such an outstanding publishing house."

"Month after month, Max continues to be a publishing phenomenon with a consistent track record of best-sellers in multiple product categories," said Michael Hyatt, president and CEO of the company. "We are honored to, once again, extend our publishing partnership with a multi-book publishing agreement. Max's love of words and his love for God are evident in every book he writes."

Lucado's latest trade book, 3:16: The Numbers of Hope, which debuted in September 2007, has now sold 3.7 million brand units. Lucado has more than 50 million books in print.
