Baker Publishing Group has announced publishing sales of $57.9 million for the fiscal year ending April 30, an increase of 16% over last year. While sales of the New York Times best-seller 90 Minutes in Heaven accounted for a portion of the increase, company officials said all divisions of Baker saw increases: Revell (26%); Chosen (25%); Baker Books (15%); Baker Academic (13%); Brazos (10%) and Bethany House Publishers (9%). "Our growth is due to solid new releases and diverse retail partners who reach the community of Christian readers we wish to serve," said Dwight Baker, president of Baker Publishing Group.
Founded in 1939, Baker Publishing Group publishes 300 new books annually and employs 200 people at its Grand Rapids, Mich., and Minneapolis offices.
