FaithWords, a division of Hachette Book Group (HBG) USA, and Windblown Media announced today a co-publishing venture to bring the surprise best-seller The Shack to a global readership. Described as a modern-day The Pilgrim's Progress, first time-author William P. Young's debut novel has been reprinted several times since its modest launch last May, with a total of 1.1 million copies now in print. The long-term venture will include future titles to be published by Windblown Media, with HBG responsible for sales, marketing, distribution, licensing and manufacturing. Windblown Media is also in discussion with film studios regarding The Shack. "Hachette has opened a tremendous door for us to ply our passion while they do the heavy lifting in production and distribution," said Wayne Jacobsen, co-owner of Windblown Media. "We couldn't be more excited at this opportunity and how it will allow us to take the momentum of The Shack and inspire readers who are spiritually hungry to find their own vibrant relationship with God."
FaithWords Publisher Rolf Zettersten added: "The same team that developed The Shack has compelling plans for future books, including He Loves Me and So You Don't Want to Go to Church Anymore |
