Berean Christian Stores has unveiled a new Web site and enhanced e-commerce capabilities aiming to build on the strength of its 25 stores in seven states. The move provides "a more convenient and consistent shopping experience to that found in Berean's retail locations," the company said.

Launched in association with e-commerce systems provider Innovative, Berean's expanded Internet presence is "the next step in our plan to provide enhanced levels of shopping to the marketplace," announced chain President Bill Simmons.

"Berean has been an innovator with our in-store experience, providing customers with one of the best store models in the industry," he said. "This development extends this top-notch experience to the online arena."

The new Berean Web site has debuted offering access to 160,000 Christian products shipped in 24 hours and a weekly $250 drawing through Christmas for those signing up for e-mail updates. The Web site also features a blog by Simmons.

"Blogs have become a prevalent means for sharing ideas and information in today's highly connected world, and as Christians, we need to participate in this arena," he said. "To do any less would be a disservice to our Christian calling and ministry."
