Several evangelical publishers have committed to take part in a new bargain show for the Christian book industry. Scheduled for Jan. 9-10, 2008, at the Doubletree Hotel in Nashville, the Inspirational Value Book Show (IVBS) is patterned after the Chicago International Remainder and Overstock Book Expo (CIROBE) in Chicago during the fall and the Spring Book Show in Atlanta. "These are bargain shows (that) are geared to all genres of booksellers, including Christian books," J.R. Slack, vice president of SAS & Associates, which is organizing the event, told Christian Retailing. "We decided it is time for the Christian book industry to have its own bargain show." "The changes in the normal January trade shows have provided a launching pad for what we think will prove to be one of the best tradeshows in the industry," he added. "This show will offer a great opportunity for Christian bookstores to increase their profits."
Slack said publishers who have committed to IVBS include Thomas Nelson Publishers, Barbour Publishing and B&H Publishing Group.
