Several top-selling Christian authors have been named among a list of America's most influential conservatives by a leading British newspaper. Highest in the list produced by The Daily Telegraph is former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, profiled as "a seemingly ideal fit to be the 2008 vice-presidential candidate on the Republican ticket," for whom the presidential nomination is likely out of reach because of "poor fundraising and a very limited foreign policy background." Ranked no. 11, Huckabee, the author of 2007 titles From Hope to Higher Ground (Center Street) and Character Makes a Difference (B&H Publishing Group), is followed at no. 26 in the list by Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, identified as "probably the most influential evangelical Christian in the country." Others listed who have released books with Christian publishers include talk radio host Michael Savage (63), Richard Land (65), Gary Bauer (70), Chuck Norris (72), Tony Perkins (81) and Fox News Analyst Oliver North (92).
