GMA announces performers for Dove Awards Print Email

Toby Mac, Kirk Franklin, Mandisa, Take 6, The Crabb Family, MercyMe and Chris Tomlin are among the performers for the 38th Annual Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards. Michael W. Smith, Brenda Lee and Bob and Larry from VeggieTales are among those slated as presenters, according to GMA officials.

The show's opening will feature Toby Mac performing with Franklin and Mandisa. Additionally, a multi-artist segment from the new Glory Revealed (Reunion Records/Provident-Integrity) project and a performance from the soundtrack of the film Amazing Grace are scheduled, GMA officials said.

GMA has also announced that Franklin, Mark Hall, Mat Kearney, Mac Powell and Aaron Shust are the final nominees for the Dove Award's Songwriter of the Year.

Closing out GMA Music Week, this year's awards will be held April 25 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Backstreet Boy and contemporary Christian artist Brian Littrell will co-host the show with singers Natalie Grant and Donnie McClurkin. The show will be televised in national syndication in May.
