Megachurch pastor and author Joel Osteen's audio podcast hit No. 9 of all podcasts on iTunes last week. According to Joel Osteen Ministries (JOM) officials, the podcast has been in or near the top 10 on iTunes since January, with more than a million downloads recorded in February alone.

“Based on the number of subscribers per day, Joel Osteen is one of the most popular podcasts in the world,” said Jeana Lawrence, director of marketing and communications for Lakewood Church in Houston, which is pastored by Osteen and his wife, Victoria.

First launched in early 2006, Osteen's audio and video podcasts have stayed at or near the top spot in the iTunes Inspirational category for the last six months, JOM officials said. Additionally, the audio podcast has ranked in the top 20 overall and the video podcast in the top 40.
