Good News Holdings (GNH) announced it has parted ways with producing partner Red Barn Productions on the making of its first horror franchise, DudleyTown. In a statement, GNH cited “not creative, but spiritual differences” as reason for parting. “We are still in love with the idea of building a legitimate horror franchise for teenagers and have other properties we are considering,” said GNH Chairman of the Board George Barna. GNH had been in partnership with Red Barn Productions to produce the movie, but differences “made it impossible for them to go forward with the project together,” the statement said. “There are some lines we will not cross,” Barna said. “We believe the Bible when it says, 'For we are not fighting against people, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against the powers of darkness who rule this world.' That's why this series of films regarding the very real battle between good and evil is so appealing to us.”
GNH said it has other teen horror properties in development that may be re-prioritized.
