SonicFaith.com, a pay-per-download site for Christian audiobooks, has launched. Primarily geared toward the Christian market, the site also offers competitively priced content on business, health, romantic relationships and foreign-language learning. The site currently sells from a selection of about 200 audiobooks.

SonicFaith's 22-year-old co-founder, Carl Obremski, said he believes Christians don't always have the time to read in today's fast-paced lifestyle. “There's a lot of quality material out there to help people grow spiritually, but it's not always in a form that's easy to digest. But now, a SonicFaith customer can listen to all the great books while driving home from work or doing the laundry,” he said.

The site allows users to download content directly to their computers, mp3 players or iPods.

“It's like a Christian bookstore for your iPod,” Obremski said. Users also have access to a selection of Bibles, with samples available. The e-commerce site features content from Christian authors including Eugene Peterson, Gary Chapman, John Eldredge, Francine Rivers, Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti.

SonicFaith offers a subscription program to its customers, with discounts on content for a monthly fee.
