Sales of Thomas Nelson's Women of Faith books, based on the successful conferences, have increased 62% over last year's sales, due to the publisher's “café” program to merchandise products together exclusively at Christian retail, the company reported.

Sell-through for books by five Women of Faith speakers-Luci Swindoll, Patsy Clairmont, Thelma Wells, Sheila Walsh and Marilyn Meberg-are also up, 129% as compared to last year. On average, sell-in to Christian retailers was up 33% over last year for each of the speaker's books. In fact, the books by Luci Swindoll, Marilyn Meberg and Thelma Wells have sold more to Christian retail in their first 6 weeks on sale in 2006 than their previous books sold in all of 2005.

The Women of Faith cafés or kiosks, featuring the branded products of Women of Faith, Thomas Nelson, Bob Siemon Designs, Carpentree, DaySpring and Kerusso, brings many of the Women of Faith products to the retail level for the first time. The program launched at more than 500 Christian bookstores in February. This success came before the launch of the 2006 Women of Faith conference season two weeks ago.

“Thomas Nelson is committed to helping our (Christian) retail partners succeed,” said Michael Hyatt, president and CEO of Thomas Nelson. “Through programs like the Women of Faith Café, which is exclusive to (Christian) stores for 2006, we hope to encourage customers to rely on their local Christian bookstore for their Christian product needs.”
