Paraclete Press has named Pamela Jordan its new CEO and publisher, replacing Lillian Miao. Jordan worked for Paraclete for nine years in the '80s and '90s. Miao, who led the Orleans, Ma., company for 19 years, was recently promoted to director of development of the Press's parent company, The Community of Jesus. “I am saddened to leave the work of publishing,” Miao said at the announcement, “but I am delighted to be going on to more good work on behalf of the Benedictine community that surrounds all that we do.” Jordan said: “Our publishing plans are bold for the coming year and beyond. I am excited to be joining the Press again at this time of extraordinary growth. You will see Paraclete extending its reach into new shelving categories, including Travel, Biography, Young Adult, Grief and Comparative Religion. We plan to double our new title output from 18 books per year a couple of years ago, to 40 in the coming year.”
In 2005, Paraclete released 28 titles.
