Canadian girl group Carried Away took home two awards at the Oct. 22 Canadian Gospel Music Association's Covenant Awards in Ontario. The trio earned the award for “Song of the Year” with “I Know,” as well as “Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year” for their debut album Closer to You (Glide/Shelter Records, Word Distribution). They were nominated in a total of five different categories.
Carried Away will also be involved in an upcoming joint charity effort between Carried Away and CMC Distribution. A portion of all sales of Carried Away's albums will be given to the Canadian Salvation Army and efforts to aid those affected by Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast Nov. 4-5 in more than 60 Canadian stores.
