Author Karen Kingsbury has created a competition specifically for retailers in response to her Reader Photo Contest held in June 2005. Retailers who can identify an individual as one of their customers in one of the winning photographs will win $100 or a complete Kingsbury library. For the Reader Photo Contest, Kingsbury asked readers to send creative pictures of themselves reading a Kingsbury book. Due to the large number of entries, she extended the grand prizes given from five to 45. Winners were awarded the “Redemption” series and Fame, book one from the “Firstborn” series. In addition, another 45 honorable mention entries were awarded with a copy of Fame. Only bookstore retailers, managers, owners or employees are eligible for the contest. There is no contest expiration date. However, only one cash award can be given per photograph to the first retailer to correctly identify the customer.

“This contest for bookstores is my way of thanking (retailers) for putting my books in the hands of these devoted readers,” Kingsbury said.
