End of the Spear, a film telling the story of five missionaries killed in the jungles of Ecuador, has received a Crystal Heart Award for Dramatic Feature from the Heartland Film Festival. The movie, produced by Every Tribe Entertainment, debuts in theaters nationwide in January, the 50th anniversary of the missionaries' deaths. End of the Spear focuses on the relationship that develops between the slain missionaries' families and the tribesmen involved in their killings. Every Tribe Entertainment, an independent film studio, was started by Mart Green, founder of Mardel Christian & Education Supply chain. As a Crystal Heart winner, End of the Spear qualifies as a candidate for a $50,000 grand-prize award during the Heartland Film Festival, which will be held in Indianapolis Oct. 13-21. The movie will be featured several times throughout the festival.
The Heartland Film Festival, a nonprofit organization based in Indianapolis, was established in 1991 to recognize and honor filmmakers whose work explores the human journey by artistically expressing hope and respect for the positive values of life.
