Zondervan racked up 13 finalists for Christian Retailing's fifth annual Retailers Choice Awards, and Integrity Publishers had the second-highest number of finalists with nine. Max Lucado had the most nods for an author with four, while Karen Kingsbury received three nominations. Retailers Choice Award winners will be announced next month at the International Christian Retail Show in Denver. Out of 238 products nominated, the top three finalists were selected in each of 27 categories. Publishers, record labels and gift companies nominated their best products in such categories as Bibles, Spiritual Growth, Gift Book, Children's and Relationship books. Several new categories were added this year to reflect the broader product mix, including DVD/Video, Mystery/Suspense Fiction and Paper/Stationery products. The winners are chosen by retailers, who voted for their favorite products through ballots included in Christian Retailing and online. Retailers who voted were entered into a drawing to win hundreds of dollars worth of nominated products, to be given away next month.
