Green Key Books recently produced two television commercials and aired them on multiple networks in the Atlanta area to support independent Christian retail and test the cost-effectiveness of cable television as a marketing vehicle for its God's Word Translation Bible.

The publisher ran spots in November featuring two Sweet Spirit Christian bookstores, which are based in Marietta, Ga. The advertising campaign featured two original 30-second commercials that ran more than 300 times on cable networks such as FOXNews, Home & Garden Television (HGTV), Lifetime and The Learning Channel (TLC).

Store manager Bob Camp said he was thrilled with the visibility the ads brought to the Sweet Spirit stores. He said God's Word Translation sales represented nearly 10% of the overall Bibles sold at the store during the promotion period, "which is great for a developing brand."
