altThe Cross--a movie about the life and ministry of globe-trekking evangelist Arthur Blessitt--will premiere March 24 at the famed Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

During the "red carpet" opening, the documentary about Blessitt, who has carried a 12-foot cross around the world during the last 40 years, will be shown to the movie's staff and the media along with special guests.

The film was made by Gener8Xion Entertainment, affiliated with Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) and the company responsible for The Omega Code and One Night With the King. TBN will broadcast live for three hours during the premiere.

"We would love to have crowds of followers of Jesus flooding the streets, sharing Jesus and then cheering the cross down the red carpet and pray as the cross is lifted up in the center of Hollywood," Gener8Xion Entertainment officials said. "Let's celebrate together the completion of the cross being carried in every nation and major island group in the world.

Since he first walked with the cross in 1969, Blessitt has taken it by foot to 315 nations, territories and island groups, covering almost 40,000 miles.

The movie opens in more than 120 theaters nationwide Friday, March 27. The Cross is also the name of the book released in January by Authentic Publishing.
