Exodus--episode 11--tells the story of the Exodus and the Last Supper, teaching children lessons about overcoming fear and moving on. In episode 12, No Way Back teaches about responsibilities from the story of Jonah. No Turning Back, episode 13, tells the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal as well as the First Pentecost.

Each of the three "Friends and Heroes" DVDs includes previews, a quiz, still scenes, a singalong music video, curriculum lessons and Spanish subtitles. The 25-minutes series-which features 3-D animation-follows the adventures of 14-year-olds Macky and Portia, weaving in stories from both the Old and New Testaments.
