Inpop Records' pop/rock band Newsboys recently signed a deal to launch its own line of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star shoes--the first time the shoes have been branded with a Christian music artist's logo.

A cultural icon, Chuck Taylors have featured the names of famous artists, including The Grateful Dead, The Who and Ozzy Osbourne. "American Athletics has placed shoes on the feet of Mel Gibson, Whitney Houston and Bob Dylan," said Gary Church, owner of American Athletics, a licensed Converse distributor.

Newsboys Manager Wes Campbell said that the opportunity to be associated with Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars was "exciting."

The shoes were launched on the band's current The Way We Roll Tour, which runs through mid-November and supports the Newsboys' latest release, In the Hands of God (Inpop Records/EMI CMG Distribution).

The Newsboys Chuck Taylor shoes are available in red, black, blue and pink in both low- and hi-tops. Click here to find out more about the Newsboys Chuck Taylor All Star shoes.
