MercyMe was scheduled to perform tonight in Wisconsin after canceling Saturday's show in St. Louis because of a fatal accident involving the band's tour bus, the Associated Press (AP) reported.

MercyMe was leaving Fort Wayne, Ind., where they had performed Friday, Aug. 7, when a car carrying several teenagers cut in front of their bus, causing the collision. The wreck killed two of the teens and the pregnant driver's unborn baby. The 18-year-old driver was hospitalized in critical condition, the AP reported.

The group suffered what band members described as "minor bumps and bruises" in the crash. "MercyMe would like to express their incredible heartache over this horrible accident," said the band on its Web site, adding that they're "praying for the families of all who this will affect, and are asking others to please pray as well."

A spokeswoman for the Wisconsin State Fair told the AP that "the band is incredibly shaken up," but has confirmed that MercyMe will perform there as scheduled this evening.
