New releases a ‘SNAP’ with STL Print Email

STL Distribution North America (STLD) is waiting to see how its new program to help stores keep on top of new releases is working out.

The first shipment in the distributor's SNAP initiative went out last month. So far more than 30 stores across the country have signed up for the program, launched at the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS) in July.

As Thomas Nelson launches the full edition of its The Word of Promise Audio Bible, Zondervan is giving a fresh face to its own award-winning audio Bible.

Inspired By ... The Bible Experience has been repackaged with an emphasis on the 400 people who lend their voices to the dramatized edition. The cover also features an 800 number that shoppers can dial to hear excerpts.

Nelson’s Christian retail Bible initiatives Print Email

Thomas Nelson has launched several Bible initiatives "in direct response to the needs of Christian retailers and their customers." The Nashville-based publisher has developed exclusive Bible products for the channel, a single ISBN ordering system and reduced footprint for store displays, company officials said.

Six Bible offerings have been created, including King James Version (KJV) and New King James Version (NKJV) UltraSlim editions, NKJV and New American Standard Bible large print editions of The MacArthur Study Bible, KJV and NKJV single-column Bibles and The Voice New Testament With Psalms and Proverbs. Featuring cover designs exclusive for the Christian retail channel, the Bibles will begin shipping in spring 2010.

The remarkable story of reconciliation taking place in a nation haunted by genocide is captured in the award-winning documentary As We Forgive, released last month.

The 53-minute program traces the journey toward forgiveness of people whose lives were irrevocably changed by the 1994 bloodletting in Rwanda that saw more than 1 million people killed in a frenzy of ethnic violence between Hutus and Tutsis.

Phillip LaRue song on ‘One Tree Hill’ Print Email

Phillip LaRue's "Chasing the Daylight" was recently featured on CW Television Network's One Tree Hill, according to the singer/songwriter's label, BEC Recordings.

LaRue, whose solo debut, Let the Road Pave Itself--which features "Chasing the Daylight"--was released in April by BEC (EMI CMG Distribution), has had five song placements on several TV shows, including Ghost Whisperer, The Hills and Harper's Island.
