CBA has named Kingdom Retail Solutions (KRS) as its new service provider to help retailers manage their stores for growth.

KRS replaces Strata Consulting-which is focusing in a different business direction, including suppliers' new-product launches, consumer test-marketing and other areas, CBA officials said.

The trend is not the next big thing--"it is the big thing," according to Gunnar Simonsen, former general manager of the Christian Supply Centers in the Pacific Northwest and now a social media consultant.

Bible reference supplier Rose Publishing is launching a giveaway program to help retailers draw more traffic.

The Torrance, Calif.-based creator of Bible charts and other study materials, winner of the 2010 Christian Retailing Retailers Choice Award for Best Christian Education material, is introducing the Free Bible E-Charts of the Month program.

Rick Warren's new book delayed again Print Email

Zondervan has again postponed Rick Warren's next book, The Hope You Need: From the Lord's Prayer.

Zondervan had hoped to release the book this fall, but Warren "has expressed his need to focus on some other projects at this time, which will result in the postponement of The Hope You Need," said Moe Girkins, Zondervan's president and CEO. "We understand many people will be disappointed at the delay, but we fully support (Warren) and respect his decision. Of course, we remain eager to bring this book to market when the time comes."

‘Word of Promise Audio Bible’ wins Audies Print Email

Thomas Nelson's The Word of Promise Audio Bible won three Audie Awards this week from the Audio Publishers Association (APA).

The full text of the Bible with dramatic performances by well-known Hollywood actors such as Richard Dreyfuss, Gary Sinise, Jason Alexander and Jon Voight was honored in the Audio Drama, Package Design and Inspirational/Faith-Based Nonfiction categories during the 15th Annual Audies, held May 25 in New York City.

Eric Helus promoted to NavPress sales director Print Email

NavPress, the publishing arm of Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Navigators, has promoted Eric Helus to sales director. He will lead the sales department, direct sales efforts of the company's products and services, and monitor market changes with retail accounts.

Helus, who came to NavPress in September 2002 as a CBA/international sales rep, has served as trade sales manager since 2006.

Michael Visentine, COO of NavPress, said Helus "is an exceptional sales professional with a proven track record in the retail book market. Inspired by a sermon from a popular pastor to use the "second half" of life for the kingdom, one gift company is using its products to encourage others and support ministry to the needy.

Illinois-based Lighthouse Christian Products, known for scripture-themed frames, coffee mugs and sculptures, originated in 1997 when George Nizynski began doing printed scripture artwork for Willow Creek Community Church, where he and his wife, Pat, volunteered.
