NavPress has announced the promotion Julie Langmade to director of marketing. Langmade came to NavPress in January 2008 after eight years at LifeWay Christian Resources in Nashville.

Michael Visentine, chief operations officer of NavPress, the publishing ministry of The Navigators, said Langmade "brings focused vision, keen insight and broad talent to this role." She holds a business management degree from Liberty University and a master's degree in business administration from Tennessee Tech University.

 
Catholic author Michael Dubruiel dies Print Email

Catholic author and speaker Michael Dubruiel collapsed and died Feb. 3 while exercising at a local gym in Birmingham, Ala. He was 50.

Dubruiel recently moved to Birmingham to become the director of the Office of the New Evangelization and Stewardship for the Diocese of Birmingham. Prior to that position, he was an acquisitions editor for Our Sunday Visitor for nine years. Dubruiel wrote several books, including The Church's Most Powerful Novenas and How to Get More Out of the Mass (both Our Sunday Visitor)

Dale Wilstermann to lead Thomas Nelson's Non-Fiction Trade Group Print Email

Thomas Nelson has announced that Dale Wilstermann will lead the company's Nonfiction Trade Group as vice president of marketing, effective March 2. Wilstermann has spent the last three years at Thomas Nelson, serving as both vice president of ABA Religious Sales and vice president of E-tailer Sales, guiding the company's online sales division.

"We believe that ... Dale is the perfect person to lead and direct the continued growth of this important division within Thomas Nelson," said David Moberg, senior vice president and group publisher of Nelson's Nonfiction Trade Division.

The American Bible Society (ABS) Board of Trustees has elected R. Lamar Vest to serve as president of the organization, beginning Jan. 1. Since May 2008, Vest has been co-managing ABS while continuing to direct the activities of Global Scripture Ministries. Prior to that, Vest was on the Bible Society's Board of Trustees, serving as chairman from 2001 to 2006.

Tooth & Nail Records/BEC Recordings has promoted Tamara Moore as national promotions manager. Moore's duties include managing the radio team and developing new artists as well as continuing to support the established roster. Moore previously worked with the label as an independent promotions coordinator since 2007.

Swanson Christian Products Sales Manager Peter Bailey died Jan. 2 after suffering a massive brainstem stroke. He was 56. A longtime musician, Bailey is survived by his wife, Mary, step-daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren.
