About 25 early risers, including media and industry leaders, were treated to a breakfast reception with author Phyllis Tickle, sponsored by Baker Publishing Group at the Orlando Rosen Centre on Monday morning.

Tickle, a veteran Christian journalist who was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2007 Christy Awards, revealed findings from her forthcoming book, The Great Emergence (Baker Books).

The basis of the book, Tickle explained, is to identify the changing patterns in Christianity, comparing the current emerging and emergent movements with the Reformation. She told the audience she hopes her book will help inform church leaders on how to engage and respond to new types of Christians in their churches.
