Dave Amster of IntegraGP in Antioch, Tenn., said new software is coming out in March for AutoSELECT, a media-player-style screen that's now in more than 400 stores worldwide.

The upgraded version will make it easier for customers to find information about artists and their music. Amster calls it a "one-touch link to all products by an artist."

Amster said a music club also would launch in May, in which customers can use key cards such as those used in grocery stores to access the system. The music club creates a profile of customers, suggests music selections for them and prints out a $2.00 coupon.

Last year more than 180 retailers converted to AutoSELECT, Amster said.

The cost of AutoSELECT ranges from $983 to $2,399. Stores under $200,000 in sales can order the program for $983, Amster said.

"Up to this point, they couldn't afford this technology," he explained.
