EMI CMG Distribution and Inpop Records have agreed to a new, long-term distribution agreement. The extension was announced Monday by Greg Bays, senior vice president of sales and marketing for EMI CMG Distribution, and Dale Bray, president of Inpop Records.

Continuing their seven-year partnership, EMI CMG Distribution holds exclusive rights for worldwide Christian and general market retail distribution of all Inpop artists, whose roster includes Newsboys, Superchick, Tree63, Shane & Shane, and Mat Kearney and newly signed artists Foolish Things and Jimmy Needham.

The deal extension comes just before several fall releases for Inpop, including Speak, the Inpop debut of Houston-based, singer/songwriter Jimmy Needham, which hit stores Aug. 15.

After a successful foray into worship music and nearly five years since the last rock record, Newsboys return to their rock roots Oct. 31 with Go. The record has already produced an AC and CHR hit single, “I Am Free.”

EMI CMG and Inpop have also created a limited collector's edition of Go exclusively for the Christian retail market, which includes three bonus tracks, plus a DVD featuring more than an hour of behind-the-scenes video footage and Newsboys' interviews.
