'The Gospel' movie soundtrack now in stores Print Email

The Gospel,

a movie about love and redemption set in the world of gospel music and the African-American church, premiered Friday in theaters nationwide. The film was No. 5 for the weekend, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com and brought in $8 million in 969 theaters.

The Gospel stars Boris Kodjoe (Showtime's Soul Food) and Idris Elba (HBO's The Wire), and includes performances by gospel artists Yolanda Adams, Martha Munizzi, Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, Fred Hammond and Delores “Mom” Winans. The movie includes original music by Kirk Franklin.

The soundtrack to The Gospel (Verity) is available for retail. The CD features music from a number of gospel artists including Adams, McClurkin, Munizzi and Walker.
