The Shack , the No. 1 New York Times best-selling debut novel by William P. Young, has reached 2 million copies in print, Hachette Book Group USA announced. Demand for the novel-originally published by Windblown Media-sparked a 14th printing of 200,000 copies. In the last six weeks, the total number of copies in print of The Shack has doubled. As of July 20, the book will have spent its seventh consecutive week in the No. 1 spot on the New York Times Paperback Trade Fiction best-seller list. Publishing deals also have been negotiated for seven foreign-language editions with several more in the works, a Hachette statement said.
Hachette Book Group USA and Windblown Media announced in May that they were entering a co-publishing venture, which includes future titles to be published by Windblown. Hachette has since assumed responsibilities for sales, marketing, distribution, licensing and manufacturing.
