The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) has announced a partnership with Family Christian Stores for its Christian Book Expo (CBE), debuting in Dallas, March 20-22 next year.

Family will set up and staff a 5,000-square-foot retail store during the consumer-focused event, intended to help expand awareness among the general public of Christian books, ECPA officials said. The largest Christian bookstore chain in the country, Family has nine locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, area, and the stores will also have access to authors participating during CBE for in-store events.

Craig Klamer, senior vice president of merchandising at Family Christian Stores, said the chain supported the event's "goal of exposing more consumers to the variety and quality of Christian books. We look forward to partnering with our suppliers to showcase and sell a multitude of books on the show floor."

ECPA President Mark Kuyper added: "Our partnership with Family Christian Stores completes an important loop for Christian Book Expo—we're now prepared to stock and sell the titles that will be promoted on the floor and in the workshops."

Meanwhile, ECPA has offered Christian retailers a reduced rate to attend the "Getting Things Done: Mastering Workflow" seminar presented during its fifth annual Publishing University (Pub U) program, Nov. 2-4.

Valued at $595 per person, the seminar—to be presented Nov. 4—has been discounted to $99, which includes lunch.

Pub U—which will be held at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center in Chicago—will feature 28 workshops, including sessions on "green" publishing, media marketing, technology that helps publishers sell more content, partnering with retailers for digital content distribution, book cover design, digital printing and selling the sales conference, ECPA said.
