Retired Tyndale executive dies |

Joan Major, a retired Tyndale House Publishers executive who worked for the Carol Stream, Ill., company for more than 30 years, died Aug. 16 from cancer. She was 73, company officials said. Major joined Tyndale team in 1972 as an administrative assistant in the retail division and served in several positions. She became Tyndale's first Bible production manager in 1985 and was appointed vice president of production in 1989, a position she held until her retirement in November 2006. Mark Taylor, president and CEO of Tyndale House, said Major "was an exemplary employee who had an outstanding career. She viewed her work as a ministry, and she ministered to people both inside and out of the company. She will always be remembered for her grace, courage, wisdom and generosity."
Services for Major will be held in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., tomorrow, Aug. 22. |
