Dr. Brad J. Waggoner, president of B&H Publishing Group, also will serve as publisher following the retirement of Vice President and Publisher David R. Shepherd, the company announced Monday.

"As the new publisher, I am looking forward to working with agents and authors as we all seek to advance the cause of Christ through the publication of quality books and resources," Waggoner said.

Named president in February, Waggoner previously led the research and ministry development department at LifeWay Christian Resources. His upcoming book, The Shape of Faith to Come: Spiritual Formation and the Future of Discipleship, will arrive in stores in October.

Shepherd joined the company in 1993, leading product development for its various resource lines and also serving as executive editor for the Holman Christian Standard Bible translation.

"We appreciate David's many years of contribution to B&H and to everyone who has benefited from his ministry," Waggoner said.
