Christian retailers have chosen the products they most appreciated selling in the 2008 Retailers Choice Awards, sponsored by Christian Retailing. Finalists from the nearly 250 products nominated in the program's 31 categories were announced today. Karen Kingsbury's Between Sundays (Zondervan) is the only book finalist in the Audio category alongside two best-selling dramatized versions of the Bible-Inspired By... The Bible Experience: The Complete Bible (Zondervan) and The Word of Promise New Testament Audio Bible (Thomas Nelson). Kingsbury is competing against herself in Women's Fiction with Sunrise (Tyndale House Publishers) and Between Sundays (Zondervan) and is up against Neta Jackson's The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Decked Out (Thomas Nelson). In Gifts, the Wall Décor category sees Carpentree with all three finalists, and in DVD/Video, with Christian films becoming more popular, a tie has resulted in five finalists. The full list of finalists is available at www.retailerschoiceawards.com. Winners will be announced during the International Christian Retail Show in Orlando, Fla. A press conference will be held in room 103B at the Orange County Convention Center on Monday, July 14, at 11 a.m. Retailers who voted this year have earned the opportunity to win hundreds of dollars worth of the nominated products, and their names will be announced at the press conference. Nominated products, released last year, were judged on the impact they have had on staff and customers, including their ability to speak to hearts and evoke emotion, open minds to new ways of thinking and encourage and affirm Christlike living.
The complete list of finalists and winners will appear in the Aug. 11 issue of Christian Retailing |
