A young entrepreneur who saw a void in the Christian products industry is offering retailers a way to revive a sagging category and bring a largely absent demographic into their stores.

Mike Clark, CEO of World Christian Posters, has tapped into the fan base that follows Christian rock groups by offering band merchandise once only available at concerts and festivals. Clark's posters will feature 70 of the top Christian artists.

World Christian Posters products are currently in 330 stores, including Mardel, Berean, 70 Parable stores and the Northwestern and Christian Supply chains. The posters are also being tested in a limited number of Family Christian and LifeWay stores. He has also secured recent deals to distribute to Europe and Nigeria.

Each rack is set up to display 30 band posters and 30 inspirational posters. A 24-by-36-inch poster sells for $7.99, with a buy-two-get-one-free offer. The rack occupies 2-by-2 feet of floor space and comes free when 264 SKUs-one of each product-are purchased.
